  • IMEW: Integrated Management of European Wetlands

    This project took place in the artificial Lake Kerkini in Greece. A set of socio-economic reports were prepared that examined the relationship between social, ecological and economic factors in wetlands. These were disseminated to the governments and appropriate authorities and proposed guidelines for sustainable economic activity in Mediterranean wetlands.

  • SPIN: Spatial Indicators for European Nature Conservation

    This project which ended in 2004 involved many academic partners and aimed at developing an advanced system which used spatial indicators to support the monitoring and in turn the management of protected sites.

    This project took place in the Kalohori lagoon in Greece and ended in 2003. It aimed at the restoration of degraded wetland functions, at creating a more sustainable management plan and raising public awareness.

  • Conservation and management of Cheimaditida-Zazari wetlands

    This project was based in Greece in the Cheimaditida-Zazari wetlands located in the prefecture of Florina. Along with many partners MedWet aimed at restoring the degraded wetland functions and promoting sustainable water management. The local community was educated and involved in the project
