Connecting wetland managers for the conservation, sustainable use, and restoration of Mediterranean Wetlands
Welcome to the MedWet Managers Network, a vibrant community of wetland managers from across the Mediterranean region: We are dedicated to fostering best management practices, exchanging knowledge, and promoting public education about the crucial role of wetlands in our environment.
The MedWet Managers Network is committed to advancing the objectives of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands and its Regional Initiative, MedWet, by establishing and maintaining comprehensive, effectively managed, and ecologically representative national and regional systems of Wetlands of International Importance (Ramsar Sites). Our community promotes a sense of belonging to the Mediterranean Ramsar Sites ethos, facilitates knowledge exchange and best practices, and encourages twinning among Mediterranean wetlands.
As a member of our community, you will have access to an extensive range of benefits, including opportunities for joint projects, training sessions and events, and coordinated actions to promote wetland conservation and effective management. Our members also have access to the MedWet Academy, which offers a wealth of resources, including webinars, training, videos, publications, and reports.
But being a part of the MedWet Managers Network is much more than simply accessing resources. Our community is vibrant and supportive, providing a unique platform for sharing experiences and knowledge with other wetland managers and experts from around the region. You’ll be part of a network of over 50 members, all of whom share a deep commitment to effectively conserving and managing our precious wetlands.
In addition to providing networking opportunities, the MedWet Managers Network organizes various activities to strengthen the network and to achieve our goals, such as the bi-annual forums, capacity-building workshops, and webinars, advocacy for site conservation and wise use, the twinning of Mediterranean Ramsar Sites, and providing guidelines on sustainable use practices of wetlands. Through these activities, we work together to make a positive difference and real change on the ground for our wetlands.
Don’t just take our word for it; hear from some of our members themselves in our testimonial videos. You’ll hear inspiring stories of collaboration and success in wetland restoration and conservation, as well as insights into the benefits of being a part of our community.
