The Mediterranean Sea is the meeting point of three continents, creating a unique region of the planet. It is a hotspot for both biodiversity and culture, but at the same time vulnerable to climate change and other human-induced pressures. This beautiful map was produced by the Spanish Government with support from Portugal and the MedWet network for first use at the 15th Conference of the Parties in Zimbabwe.

It aims to show the richness and diversity of the region, its wetlands, nature and the efforts that have been made to conserve them through the Ramsar Regional Initiative. The map can be downloaded for use to promote, educate and raise awareness of the importance of wetlands.
