The draft MedWet Framework for Action 2016-2030 is out for comments

The Director of Water and Biodiversity at the French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy, Mr. François Mitteault, in his capacity as current Chair of the Mediterranean Wetlands Committee (MedWet/Com), has written to his counterparts in the other 26 MedWet countries inviting their comments on the draft MedWet Framework for Action 2016-2030 – Wetlands for sustainable development in the Mediterranean region.

The draft Framework for Action has been prepared as a concrete contribution to the achievement of some of the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the UN last September and as concrete regional implementation of the 4th Strategic Plan of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands adopted by the Conference of the Parties last June.

The draft Framework proposes almost 100 actions to achieve the targets of the Ramsar Strategic Plan in the Mediterranean region.
