Elles jouent un r\u00f4le essentiel dans l&rsquo;adaptation et l&rsquo;att\u00e9nuation des catastrophes naturelles li\u00e9es au changement climatique, telles que les inondations, la s\u00e9cheresse, les temp\u00eates et l&rsquo;\u00e9rosion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cependant, ces zones humides ont subi d&rsquo;importantes pertes, estim\u00e9es \u00e0 environ la moiti\u00e9 depuis les ann\u00e9es 1970, selon l&rsquo;Observatoire des Zones Humides M\u00e9diterran\u00e9ennes (OZHM). Cette perte continue entra\u00eene la disparition des services qu&rsquo;elles fournissent, impactant la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et les moyens de subsistance des communaut\u00e9s locales environnantes. Face \u00e0 ces d\u00e9fis climatiques, des mesures urgentes sont n\u00e9cessaires pour mettre un terme \u00e0 leur d\u00e9gradation, prot\u00e9ger les sites restants et restaurer ceux qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 alt\u00e9r\u00e9s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L&rsquo;utilisation rapide et rentable de donn\u00e9es pour cartographier ces \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes et suivre leur \u00e9tat s&rsquo;av\u00e8re cruciale. Cela nous permet de surveiller de pr\u00e8s leur \u00e9volution et de prendre des mesures rapides et efficaces pour les pr\u00e9server et les g\u00e9rer de mani\u00e8re durable. Belloulid, LPM<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cette \u00e9tude explore l&rsquo;utilisation de donn\u00e9es d&rsquo;Observation de la Terre pour cartographier et d\u00e9limiter les zones humides existantes et perdues, comprendre leur utilisation actuelle et estimer les efforts n\u00e9cessaires pour recr\u00e9er celles qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 perdues et transform\u00e9es. En d\u00e9ployant une approche novatrice, l&rsquo;\u00e9tude illustre comment ces outils peuvent identifier les sites propices \u00e0 la restauration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L&rsquo;approche a \u00e9t\u00e9 test\u00e9e dans les bassins versants du Sebou (Maroc) et de la Medjerda, transfrontalier entre l&rsquo;Alg\u00e9rie et la Tunisie. Les r\u00e9sultats obtenus r\u00e9v\u00e8lent des zones humides potentiellement restaurables de plus de 7000 km\u00b2 et 1700 km\u00b2, respectivement, fournissant une base cruciale pour la gestion des ressources en eau et l&rsquo;am\u00e9nagement du territoire.
