The Symposium will be held in Agadir, Morocco from 6 to 8 February 2012 and will asses the progress made concerning the protection of wetlands in the last twenty years, discuss the new challenges faced by Mediterranean wetlands and plan for the future in a collaborative manner.

Nejib Benessaiah, MedWet Coordinator, represented the MedWet Initiative in the World Wetlands Day (WWD) celebrations that took place on the French island of Corsica. Back in June 2010 MedWet held its 10th Mediterranean Wetlands Committee meeting in Corsica, close to the picturesque city of Bastia.
