MedWet has been very active in encouraging Mediterranean countries to join the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands and has had considerable success. Currently, there are 438 Ramsar Sites in the MedWet Countries according to the complete list (22 November 2024) updated by the Secretariat of Ramsar Convention.
