The 3rd online Conference on “The Restoration of Mediterranean Wetlands: the Wetland-Based Solutions”, organized by the Union for the Mediterranean and MedWet will be held on 15/12/2023, 10:00 – 12:00 (CET). The Conference will be an excellent opportunity to highlight and inform all stakeholders, including decision-makers and practitioners at all levels on the latest tools, findings, and strategies available and currently implemented in these vital ecosystems in different parts of the Mediterranean. This aim is to activate the transformative changes and coordinate the efforts urgently required to scale up wetland ecosystem conservation and restoration.

About the organizers:

• The Union for the Mediterranean Secretariat, a multilateral partnership composed of 43 countries (27 EU Member States and 16 Southern and Eastern Mediterranean Countries) with the mandate of enhancing regional cooperation and integration between both shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
• MedWet, the Mediterranean Wetlands Initiative, bringing together 27 Mediterranean and peri-Mediterranean countries Parties to the Convention on Wetlands (Ramsar, Iran, 1971). The MedWet Mission is to ensure and support the effective conservation of the functions and values of Mediterranean wetlands and the sustainable use of their resources and services.
