Objectives:

The objectives of this Forum are to promote the pooling of experiences, best practices and lessons learned in wetland management in Africa and to strengthen the participation of small African NGOs in international negotiations around wetlands. The forum will produce recommendations that will be presented to the next Conferences of Contracting Parties (COPs) to the Ramsar Convention.

Themes:
The structure, the program and the themes of the Forum are the result of an open consultation process in which the NGOs of the network participated, and are based on previous preparations for a forum in Tunisia last year. The Forum will have three themes:

• Status and management of wetlands in Africa
• Biodiversity of wetlands in Africa
• Youth, gender and wetlands in Africa
