The 2nd of February is World Wetlands Day which offers an annual opportunity to raise awareness on the importance of wetlands at a global level.
In order to celebrate such an event, the University of Camerino (UNICAM) will organize, on 2 February, an online meeting to present the CREW project and its results in terms of implementation, by showing to the audience the functioning of the CREW Observatory and web platform.
In addition, the participation of representatives of the MedWet Initiative and of the Croatian Ramsar National Focal Point will allow the participants to discuss synergies of the CREW project with the Mediterranean Wetlands Observatory (MWO). Finally, in the morning session, a debate will be set during the round table on Transnational Governance strategies on Wetlands within the Italian and Croatian coasts.
During the day, UNICAM will host a special seminar devoted to the students of the Bachelor Degree course: “Environment and Sustainable Management of the Natural resources” of UNICAM. The speakers will talk about the topic of the WWD 2021 which focuses this year on water, and on wetland conservation and management with the contributions of the university professors and researchers, and representatives of regional natural sites. Examples of wetland contracts will be shown on which the CREW project focuses in developing the transnational strategy for the governance of the wetland area.
