Artisanal salinas across the Mediterranean are today facing many pressures due to profound socio-economic changes that have affected productive activities.
The MedArtSal project team has launched a survey to investigate on salt production models applied in Mediterranean countries. The aim is to receive information from salt producers to design a sustainable management model that encourages and provides solutions for salinas towards socioeconomic diversification, new income associated with the production of high-quality salt and other products for marketing, at the same time respecting the natural environment of the beautiful salt enclaves.
