The MedWet Coordinator had an active participation at the European Ramsar Meeting held in Austria in preparation for Ramsar COP12. Apart from a plenary presentation and group discussions on regional initiatives, together with the Black Sea and Azov Sea Regional Initiative, the Coordinator intervened actively in group and plenary discussions and organized a “MedWet Briefing Breakfast” attended by some 35 participants form MedWet countries and partners. The briefing was used for an update on the current developments in the MedWet Secretariat and on future plans.

The Coordinator distributed to participants a document in English and French on “20 Draft MedWet Projects Concepts”. These are projects concepts that after consulting with the MedWet countries and partners the Secretariat would like to develop into full project proposal for submission to potential funders. The English and French document can be consulted below.

In the next days the Coordinator will send to MedWet countries his proposals for amendments to the Draft Resolutions and the draft Ramsar Strategic Plan 2016-2021 to be discussed at the Standing Committee meeting at the end of January for transmission to COP12 (Uruguay, 1-9 June 2015).
