Staff changes in the MedWet Secretariat

In the past few months the MedWet Secretariat has undergone some restructuring and changes. After almost a year and a half in the position of Coordinator, Mr. Adnan Budieri officially resigned from his post in June 2009, for personal reasons. In order to assist in the smooth operation of the Secretariat, Nejib Benessaiah (former Policy and Communications Advisor) was appointed Acting and then Interim Coordinator, until the recruitment of a new MedWet Coordinator.

With the shift of Mr. Benessaiah from his position as Policy and Communication Advisor to Acting Coordinator, the need arose for a new Communications Officer to replace Ms. Sofia Spyrou who left MedWet in January 2009.

After reviewing several interested candidates, based in Athens, the Acting Coordinator selected and proposed Ms. Lily Mordechai to the Governing Board Facilitator for approval. Following a series of interviews of the candidate, it was decided to sign a short-term contract on a part-time (50%) basis. Ms. Lily Mordechai holds degrees in Psychology and Environmental Management from accredited Universities in the UK. She speaks Greek, English, French and Spanish and has already embarked on the task of updating the MedWet website in order to make it more interactive, user-friendly and appealing.

Finally, Ms Aspasia Dimizas, Programme Developer, after giving birth to a beautiful daughter, Myrto, has returned this year to MedWet as a part-time employee.
