A research and documentation center for the Ramsar site of Lake Prespa has been launched by the Society for the Protection of Prespa. Shared by Albania, FYR of Macedonia and Greece the Prespes are lakes of unique cultural heritage including Byzantine monuments and traditional architecture. To study and promote the relationship between Man and Nature that has been formed in Prespa over the centuries the study center has been established and is housed in a recently restored traditional building on the shore of Aghios Germanos.
To advance the conservation of the transboundary lake Prespa the Prespa Park was established in 2000. Read more about the Transboundary Prespa Park
