The Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL) has produced a report on the effects of climate change on biodiversity in Lebanon. Bassima Khatib of SPNL reports:
SPNL in partnership with Indyact has developed a project funded by the British Embassy. The aim of the project was to develop a preliminary scientific report highlighting the expected impact of climate change on biodiversity in Lebanon, and identifying indicator species for monitoring. The report depended on collating information from desk top research and interviews with experts in the field. This report would be the basis for the development of future projects that would tackle monitoring, awareness and education, and possible mitigation measures.
