On the occasion of United Nations Day o­n October the 24th at MedWet we are proud to announce the launch of a new initiative created by the need to better understand the great importance of the Mediterranean in all our lives. A day dedicated to life o­n the Mediterranean.

The first Global Mediterranean Coast Day will be celebrated with dozens of events across the region. In Athens, UNEP-MAP, MedWet and the French Institute are co-hosting along with Elliniki Etairia a screening of films dedicated to life o­n the coast. The event aims to raise awareness o­n the issues the sensitive coastal ecosystems face.

The screening of a select group of internationally acclaimed documentaries, will take place o­n Wednesday October the 24 at the premises of the Elliniki Etairia 28 Tripodon street in Plaka, central Athens.
