MedWet has been very active in encouraging Mediterranean countries to join the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands and has had considerable success. Currently, there are 428 Ramsar Sites in the MedWet Countries according to the complete list (21 October 2020) updated by the Secretariat of Ramsar Convention.
